An important note:
This leaflet does not contain any images, videos, or links to images/videos of the leaks themselves because that would be the easiest way to get DMCA'd.
This will focus on gameplay mechanics shown in the videos, or other notably things in it that diverge from previous GTA games, in the order the videos were leaked.
As of 2026-08-22, videos are still being occasionally uploaded.
You can find my coverage that I updated as I went through it below, however this document aims to be a more organized covering of actual gameplay features, and does not cover the lore surrounding the leaks themselves.
The GTA 6 Video Leaks
and what a nerd thinks about them
Basketball
This was the first video leaked.
In the video are various gameplay mechanics, with timestamps included and more info listed below.
Throughout the whole clip some UI elements are visible at all times.
The cash at the top left is in two parts, one has a wallet icon and shows $39 and the other has a Home icon and is $1,643. It is, naturally, in the classic Pricedown font.
Jason is seen leaning on the railing at his home at the very beginning [0:00].
There is no on-screen prompts relating to it, so its possible this is the location where Jason is once you load into the game off of a save, and moving the controller input simply triggers the exit animation.
Bonus fact: In the exit animation, you can see Jason snap up slightly initially. When the leaks first occured and we only had low quality versions, there was some suspicion that it might be AI generated, this was one of the things that convinced me that it wasn't.
There is some sort of ambient like musical note/chord at the very beginning of the video, which also may related to the loading screen going away?
Jason gets up from the railing and begins walking away [0:08]
You can see a small circle on the handle of the sliding door to him home. Presumably this is for indicating "this door is open-able" which may or may not require a button press.
After jumping over the railing, a UI element at the top left with a lightning bolt appears. This is likely stamina and will come up regularly in the future videos.
Once on the ground, there is a Icon over his Ganado which is a simple car blip with a J icon. J presumably representing Jason, and perhaps it is just indicating "This is Jason's car"
Jason then runs over to the eponymous Basketball and picks it up. [0:19]
When looking at it, a button glyph appears. However, all the glyphs in this video as well as all the future leaked videos do not have actual button icons. The exact reason for this is not clear and the theories vary, as described below.
This could be a "platform-agnostic" build intended to focus on showcasing the game without focusing on any platform specifically (Avoiding showing the Playstation of Xbox button icons)
They could have simply not made the button glyphs yet as of when this build was compiled.
It was bugged.
It was a PC build.
None of the theories above have been confirmed and none are more/less likely based on what we know thus far.
Jason has picked up the Basketball [0:25]
The bottom right button hints straight from RDR2 (albeit with different button glyphs (that are missing) and with a different font). Specifically a "THROW" and a "AIM" button is shown.
A weapon/equipment icon appears at the top right with the Basketball.
Notably this is in colour, and is visible at all without pulling up the weapon/equipment wheel.
One of the things that was peculiar about this UI was that the weapon icon shifted the money UI down. This was one of the reasons that I thought it was AI because "surely Rockstar wouldn't do something like that, it just looks so odd"
When moving he dribbles the ball.
A help text appears reading "To shoot, aim with and hold until the rings overlap, then release.
The double spaces above are accurate, and again, are missing button glyphs. Presumably it would show something along the lines of "To shoot, aim with LT and hold RT until the rings overlap, then release."
He aims, and shoots the basketball.
Jason scores the Baskbetball in the hoop.
First try I might add.
After getting the basketball in the hoop, a rather generic ding noise plays and a UI element appear on the center-right reading "1 scored" and then shows a basketball icon, this is the same area where collecting items and honour and so on appear in RDR2.
Additionally, a UI element at the bottom right reading "Focus" appears, with +2%.
This UI element appears... very generic, almost like something out of a fivem server slapped together with Claude Code.
The element also shifts the button prompts to the left, leaving just the (blank) button glyph visible and not what it actually does.
This is very generic and leads me to believe the UI was very much not finalized at this point, or in any of the future clips.
From this angle we can also get a good look of the underneath of Jason's house. There is some visible Global Illumination bouncing off of the ground and lighting up the underside of the home, however I can not infer whether its using raytracing for this or not.
A jet-skier boats by in the background as well.
Jason continues shooting hoops.
At [0:50] some TAA2 ghosting3 is visible in the form of darker splotches behind where the basketball was moving. This is a common artifact of TAA and is not unique to GTA 6, but is hopefully something that is improved on before release.
The "2 scored" card appears and continues to update as he shoots.
He misses, and the ball goes into the water
The quality of the water is candidly, not great, but as I do believe this game build is somewhat old this is not too surprising.
Overall, this clip is a pretty good overview of the graphical quality of the game, which to my opinion is pretty good, and better than I anticipated. Although we do not know if this is from a PS5/PS5 Pro/Xbox Series X/Xbox Sereis S or even possibly, from a PC.
Random Video 1
This was the second video, and came out at about the time that the high quality, not super-compressed version of the original basketball video came out.
Jason is in a Ganado driving about. [0:00]
He performs a burnout briefly before driving off and driving in front of a NPC who reacts "Nuh-uh. Fuck you"
This is subtitled, which implies that ambient NPC voicelines will be subtitled like RDR2.
The subtitle styling is very basic and again further cements the idea that this is probably a early version of the game, albeit obviously one more recent than the original teapot leaks.
He spins back around and drives towards a Scoop delivery truck, colliding with it and getting t-boned by it.
Scoop driver get his revenge [0:21]
The Scoop NPC, aggro'd by being hit by Jason, drives after and collides with Jason's Ganada. This is not necessarily a new feature/behaviour but it is still fairly seamless in how the NPC does it.
Once Jason's vehicle comes to a stop, the Scoop delivery driver hops out and wields a Pipe Wrench.
Side note: Why would a delivery driver have a pipe wrench..? Maybe just a Florida/Leonida thing...
As Jason gets out, you can see his necklace appear to be physically simulating.
This is in contrast to GTA 5 where necklaces would only be animated in cutscenes.
Jason begins to beat up the delivery driver. [0:30]
His first move is a flying kick, and he then punches him in the face knocking him out quite quickly.
He then picks up the pipe wrench off the ground and begins beating up the already-downed delivery driver with his own pipe-wrench.
Cop sirens can be heard in the distance.
It is not clear if this is an ambient "the cops are coming for you" sound, or if its from the NPC cop that was sat near the road, seemingly "running radar".
Either way, the parked cop car is the first to respond, and for some reason says "Stop the vehicle!" while he is not in a vehicle, again, probably just a minor bug.
Jason gains 2 stars.
When the Jason is devious 😈 [0:49]
After finishing up beating up the delivery driver, an icon appears in the center right UI which is basically... -😈
This appears to be basically GTA 6's idea of an "Honour" system, although it's purpose is likely quite different in GTA 6 compared to how it works in RDR2.
At the same time, at the bottom right, a headshot of Jason appears and beneath it is a slightly less devious looking devil icon.
My assumption as to what this is, is that it is likely the character switcher. Although at this point in the footage - and all the leaks as of writing - there is no Lucia so it is just Jason's headshot there.
Jason gets in his car [0:54]
When getting into the car, at the top right next to the 2 Stars is 3 icons.
A clothes hangar
Indicates that the cops know what they look like
A location pin
Indicates that the cops know where they are.
A vehicle
Indicates that the cops know the vehicle they are in.
On the radar is a large circle blip that initially starts blue while he is "gaining" stars (they are not solid yet) and then changes to alternating Red/Blue once the cops are solidly on him.
He turns around and turns into the nearby parking lot, colliding with a "Fast Pass EMS" ambulance, and smushes the paramedic/EMT.
Clip ends with Jason driving up to a helicopter.
The clip does not show him leaving the vehicle or entering the helicopter, but presumably he was going to get into the medical helicopter.
Overall this clip is most notably for just showing NPC behaviour and general traffic, as well as the new mechanics added for the police system.
Taser
This was the third video leaked and, shocking news: it contains a taser.
Jason is seen driving in some sort of a crapbox with a rusted out body. [0:00]
Interestingly the hood of the car is seemingly deformed, whether this is just a part of the vehicle in general or if it was influenced by the driver damaging it in gameplay is not clear.
At the bottom left is the minimap, which seems to only be visible when in vehicles.
It has an ifruit icon at the top left
The minimap itself appears to be somewhat 3D in nature, showing building heights in it.
It is kinda weirdly zoomed in, which may just be a bug/quirk of the build shown.
Jason drives into the Allied Crystal Sugar Refinery [0:20]
He collides with the barrier, which does not open for him.
It breaks into 3 pieces. It is unclear if they are using a dynamic fracturing system or if it just happened to break into 3 pieces in such a way where there is one piece about the car's width, and then the piece to the right connecting to the base, and the piece to the left for the remainder.
It not opening in this case makes sense, as he is promptly told he is trespassing.
Immediately upon driving in a voiceline is heard saying "Let's see those hands".
No subtitle appears for it, curiously.
He drives further in to the area.
Jason says hello to some security guards [0:32]
A female security guard says "Ay! Can't be here! This ain't public!"
She interrupts herself with another voiceline saying "I'ma fuck your ass up! Ain't playing no more!"
Again, probably just a minor quirk and hopefully something that will be smoothed out before release.
The male security guard backs them up, saying "I'm getting on this shit"
No subtitle appears again, it seems likely that it is proximity or volume based, which makes sense.
Jason goes to the truck there and attempts to enter, getting an animation for indicating it is locked. [0:38]
Two prompts appear upon doing this.
"Clone Key"
This option is greyed out, and likely requires some sort of equipment to do.
"Smash Window"
Is not greyed out, and has a ! in a shield icon.
Ultimately he does not steal the truck.
Jason begins beating up the male security guard. [0:40]
After getting punched, the security guards hat flies off.
The guard pulls a pistol out.
Jason then enters a contextual attack/disarm animation where-in he grabs the gun in his hand, bonks him with his body, then takes the gun and hits him across the head with it.
While doing this animation, the camera angle changes, the game goes into slow motion, and the guard is knocked out. Basically a fancy "kill cam" for special actions. Somewhat like what is in RDR2 (although candidly, been a while since I've played it)
After grabbing the gun, another help text appears reading "Tap while aiming to toggle your tactical flashlight."
Again, double space where a button icon should be.
Jason extends the favour to the female security guard [0:50]
The female security guard aims here pistol at Jason
As the guard is aiming it, a prompt for Surrender appears at the bottom right, however Jason does not use it.
Jason beats up the female security guard as well.
Another male guard comes in with the eponymous taser. [0:54]
The guard shoots the taser at Jason, however his reaction is minimal. Seemingly losing all his stamina and half of his health.
In spite of getting tased, he slaps him with the other male guards pistol, knocking him out.
Jason looks down and picks up the guards hat (similar to RDR2)
He then also looks down and grabs the taser
The UI shows it as the name "SHOCKER"
The UI also indicates that the "KLOSE K17 PISTOL" would be dropped if he picks it up, implying a significantly different inventory system than that of GTA 5, and more like RDR2.
He grabs the taser.
Taser fun [1:07]
Jason tases the downed female security guard, causing her to rather convincly convulse on the ground.
The taser seemingly has 12 "rounds", although probably 13 given the one discharged by the security guard. Exact amount varies, but it is NOT an infinite weapon like GTA 5.
Another female guard comes up and yells "Hey! Stop!" with a flashlight in hand, before Jason tases her as well.
She also convulses as one would expect. Why did Jason not convulse 🤔
Another guard with a flashlight sees this happens, and turns around to run away before getting tased as well.
Jason borrows a truck [1:30]
While doing so, he begins to get shot at by a security guard, but casually says "Hey I always wanted a truck."
The female driver says "Stop! That's a gift from one of my boyfriends!"
This... doesn't make too much sense because why would a branded Allied Crystal truck be gifted by a boyfriend? This is likely just a generic NPC placed into the driver position that would be better off replaced with another NPC type.
Hopefully this is done before release, I have no reason to believe it wouldn't be.
Once getting in the vehicle, the "MTL PACKER" description shows up and indicates the vehicle engine is mildly damaged and is a little below half gas.
This was also visible when Jason got back into his Ganado in the second clip.
He begins driving off [1:48]
As he does so, a sound cue plays, he gains one flashing star, and a notification of "Crime reported" appears
The same icons at the top right appear, indicating that his appearance and location are known, but not the vehicle.
The red/blue region appears in the area of the depot, but does not follow him out.
The clip ends abruptly
A taunting, unrelated cutscene [1:54]
A cutscene with Cal and Jason talking about VPN's appears.
This cutscene is presumably still early on in the game, like all of the clips (as of writing) as there is no Lucia.
This clip further cements that GTA 6 is going for a slightly more realistic approach, blending aspects of RDR2 into GTA, some more directly than others.
Junkies
This was the fourth clip leaked, and comparitively does not show much thats new.
Jason says hello to a cop with a knife [0:13]
Jason kicks the motorcycle cop off of his bike, knocking it over and knocking him off.
He pulls a knife, in doing so revealing the weapon wheel.,
The weapon wheel has two tabs, "WEAPONS" and "ITEMS", similar to that of RDR2.
Additionally, at the bottom left is two items, one in red that is later shown to be Zombix.
Other items in this weapon wheel are a gun, a flashlight, and his fist.
When the weapon wheel is up, it also shows his health, stamina, and Focus gauges.
There is also an option to drop the weapon.
Jason begins stabbing the cop until he is down.
A prompt appears suggesting the dead cop could be picked up, similar to RDR2.
The... deviancy(?) meter reappears.
Also around this time a prompt appears showing the hunting knife could also be thrown.
Jason gets onto the bike. [0:20]
Jason drives off.
At the bottom left it shows the vehicle is a Western Soverign 107 and shows the usual Engine/Fuel gauges.
It also shows a yellow position icon.
This possibly suggests that the vehicle is tracked.
As he is driving off, an npc says "Hey I saw that" and Jason gains a 1 star wanted level.
As he continues driving, he goes past a Peewees that has a burger icon on the map, as well as what appears to be an icon suggesting there is a drive-through(?)
The police siren blipping sound is heard again, which again may suggest that it is just a frontend sound.
After gaining the 1 star, Jason's location begins to show a bunch of expanding circles pulsing out of the icon, suggesting the vehicle might be getting tracked?
A large red area indicating the search area is shown.
Jason drives out of the area and into the water.
Jason goes for a swim. [0:44]
Jason then goes says hello to some of the NPC's in the area underneath the freeway.
The "Greet" and "Taunt" system appears to have come over from RDR2, extended the one in GTA 5 (which could done with pressing E on PC when near NPC's on foot, going off of memory)
As Jason is chatting with the NPC's an on-screen police siren icon appears at the bottom, suggesting that police may be behind him (based on the camera movement affecting its location, and the fact that the direction it was pointing was basically where he had come from)
Jason goes near an NPC, and pisses him off by being too close to him.
The NPC pushes Jason back and tells him to leave.
Jason returns it and slaps him
The slap animation used matches the one shown used against a teller in one of the trailers, suggesting that trailer footage was in fact gameplay.
Jason pulls a knife and begins stabbing at them.
A help text for "The cops are searching for you [star icon] and they have your description]" followed by the three aforementioned Location/Appearance/Vehicle icons, telling the player what they mean.
The NPC's around the area do not really react much.
Jason uses Zombix from his weapon wheel.
This causes a helptext to appear "Repeated use of Zombix will temporarily have a weaker effect on your health."
This appears to be a painkiller mechanic similar to that of Max Payne 3.
Jason loots the downed homeless person for... $6. And loots another for $8
He continues to go and stab more NPC's and looting them for some Zombix.
The same cutscene from the previous clip shows up.
Plane (Poll)
This video was the result of the pay-to-vote poll he had on his site.
The video is... pretty much just a plane being flown around and shows the radio wheel. Which has a section for "ON DEMAND" which is presumably basically like playing spotify.
During the footage he is pretty much exclusively flying in cinematic mode.
Some peculiarities with the volumetric clouds appears with them kinding abruptly forming in view around [1:15]
At the end it cuts to a clip of Jason using a larger gun to shoot "LEEK" into the wall. You can find more info about my thoughts on this in the other post.
Hypercar Part 1
This clip features a hypercar, specifically a Thrax.
Jason steals the Thrax from an NPC [0:03]
The animation played here is actually pretty neat, first Jason tries to open the car with the door handle, realizes it is locked, then smashes the window with his elbow, opens it, then grabs the driver out of it.
While grabbing the driver out of it, a quick-time event for mashing a button appears.
He yanks them out and steals the car.
The icon for what I believe is a tracker appears here as well.
The crime is reported [0:28]
When this happens, the suspected-tracker icon appears to pulsate briefly. Further backing its meaning... probably.
Jason continues driving about.
A cop car drives by and recognizes the car as being reported stolen [1:12]
In the oncoming lanes is a cop car, only briefly noticable
A blue indicator on the HUD points in that direction and he gains 2... red stars after driving back into the area where he stole it. Suggesting the "crime" is locational. and that the cop did not truly see him due to the distance.
The rest of the clip is simply Jason driving around more.
Hypercar Part 2
Jason continues driving about in his freshly acquired Thrax.
Jason turns into a gas station [0:11]
At the gas pump, a prompt for services appears
"Refuel ($32)"
"Repair ($2,429)"
Jason robs a store [0:27]
He knocks out the cashier and takes the money from the cashier, the Sheriff's department arrives within seconds, probably because he was already being looke dfor in the Thrax
Jason drives off, and to another Gas station [1:07]
Jason robs it as well.
Jason continues driving
The clip ends with a teaser for the next clip, with Jason walking into a Stripclub.
Compared to the other clips, this one doesn't have too much that isn't already covered above.
Stripclub
Stripclub. It's a stripclub.
There isn't too much gameplay wise in this one, there is however an basketball game on the TV's.
Only thing particularly notable is that Jason busts out a pair of Binoculars to zoom in on a strippers ass.
The last clip is unrelated and another cutscene in the same style as the other one, starting with Jason saying "I've gotta take a leak" before... yknow going to a bathroom.
This document was written as of 2026-08-22 and will be updated with more clips and any notable gameplay mechanics seen in them as they come out, as it seems quite likely more will come. I will probably stop maintaining this after the Netflix special, because at that point I would hope most things would be properly revealed.
